There were already talks about Kia possibly working on a performance version of their Kia Forte and now Kia is confirming the existence of the model by bringing the Forte GT to SEMA.
As expected the Kia Forte GT will be a redesign version of the 2019 Forte model. Under the hood is now a 1.6 liter turbocharged four engine that will be delivering about 201hp and 195lb ft of torque. The vehicle was fitted with a dual exhaust so that it sounds different as well. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Other changes that we can see include the Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires. All these upgrades are similar to what the Elantra Sport got. Those looking for a slightly more affordable option can go for the GT Line trim car which will make the vehicle look like the GT model but does not have all the mechanical upgrades.
